“Sacred Celebrations for Advent & Christmas : Year C” 
The theme for Advent and Christmas Year C is “Live the Dream”. The Readings for Advent Year C draw together the past, present and future aspects of daily living, growing and relating by reflecting on what it means to incarnate the Word or the Dream of God. Incarnation is about ‘giving flesh or human form to'. God has a Dream for all humankind. That Dream is about how we should live, grow and relate to one another and with our surroundings. God's Dream is for a world marked by justice, compassion, tolerance, acceptance, authenticity, truth, integrity…the list is familiar. Some refer to them as ‘Gospel values', but in essence, they are also ‘human values'.
Jesus Christ became the incarnation of the Dream of God. He came amongst us to show us who God is and through his actions, his relationships, his outreach, his justice and his deep compassion, Christ embodied the Dream of God. As Christians, each one of us is called to live the same Dream, that is to embody it, to incarnate it, to BE the Dream of God.
This Advent, we focus on the call to LIVE THE DREAM. Are we living and promoting God's Dream - as Jesus did? Are we being people of peace, justice, compassion, concern, truth? We are called not to words, but to actions, to live and be the Dream of God for one another. Wake up! The time is now!
Each week calls us to reflect on a different aspect of living God's Dream:
Week 1: Are you willing to live God's Dream?
Week 2: Can you hear God's Dream?
Week 3: Do you care about broken and unfulfilled dreams?
Week 4: Will you reach out and stand in solidarity with other dreamers?
As for Years A and B, Year C Advent liturgies are based on the Lectionary readings. For each week in Advent there is a liturgy for adults and two prayer rituals for children - one for children aged 4-8 years and one for children aged 9-12 years. These rituals are based on the format of Liturgy of the Word and are a wonderful resource for schools and parishes.
